## Security Incident Near the White House

A significant security alert unfolded in the nation’s capital on Thursday as federal
authorities apprehended a Venezuelan national in the vicinity of the White House.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the individual was taken
into custody following a confrontation that raised immediate concerns regarding
the safety of President Donald Trump.

## Allegations of Targeted Threats

The circumstances surrounding the arrest are particularly alarming, as officials
report that the suspect made direct statements concerning the President-elect. During
the encounter with law enforcement, the man claimed that he had been hearing voices
in his head that were commanding him to carry out an attack against Donald Trump.

## Discovery of Weapons

The gravity of the situation was compounded by the findings of federal officers
during their search of the suspect’s vehicle. Authorities confirmed that the man
was in possession of firearms at the time of his arrest. The presence of these weapons
in close proximity to the White House complex triggered a swift response from security
personnel tasked with protecting the President and the surrounding federal grounds.

## Ongoing Federal Investigation

The incident remains under active investigation by federal agencies. While the suspect
has been detained, the details regarding how he arrived at the location and his
specific intentions remain subject to the ongoing inquiry. DHS officials have provided
the initial details of the arrest, emphasizing the role of the weapons found in
the vehicle as a key component of the threat assessment.

As of this time, authorities have not released further details regarding the suspect’s
background or his history prior to this incident. The proximity of the arrest to
the White House underscores the heightened security protocols currently in place
for the President-elect. Officials continue to process the evidence gathered from
the scene as they work to determine the full extent of the threat posed by the individual.
