The command’s spokesperson, ASP Nahum Daso disclosed this in a statement released on Wednesday, October 22.

According to the command, the incident occurred at about 9:00 am on October 13, when one Abba K. of Damboa Road, Maiduguri, boarded a commercial tricycle (Keke NAPEP) and discovered upon alighting that his Infinix Smart 8 mobile phone was missing from his pocket.

“Through diligent investigation, digital forensic analysis and intelligence gathering, the operatives successfully apprehended six suspects allegedly connected to the crime.

During the course of the investigation, the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the theft of the mobile phone and the subsequent unlawful withdrawal of N5,650,000.00 (Five Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) from the victim’s bank account.
