Shooting Stars have brought an end to a difficult five-match winless streak in the
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), earning a decisive 3-1 victory against Ranchers
Bees, according to a report by Daily Post Nigeria. The result delivers vital momentum
for the Ibadan-based side after weeks of faltering form.

## How the Match Unfolded

The hosts established an early advantage to set the tone for the encounter. Desmond
Ojietefian found the back of the net in the 14th minute to give Shooting Stars the
lead. However, the visitors mounted a response before the break. Ranchers Bees pulled
level seven minutes prior to halftime, with Isah Ndala Aliyu capitalizing on an
opportunity to make it 1-1.

Parity proved short-lived. In the closing stages of the opening half, Damilola Akinola
scored to put Shooting Stars back in the lead. The Oluyole Warriors maintained control
through the second period and eventually put the result beyond doubt. Qamar Adegoke
delivered the third goal 19 minutes from full time, sealing the 3-1 scoreline and
securing all three points for his side.

## Relief for Technical Staff and League Table Shifts

Beyond ending their barren run, the victory brings timely respite for Shooting Stars
technical adviser Salisu Yusuf. Having gone five straight league fixtures without
a win, scrutiny had been mounting around the dugout. Daily Post Nigeria noted that
the three points significantly alleviated pressure on the coaching staff.

The outcome also triggered immediate changes in the lower reaches of the NPFL standings.
With the victory, Shooting Stars successfully moved out of the relegation zone.
Conversely, the defeat plunged Ranchers Bees directly into the drop zone, underscoring
the tight margins separating clubs in the bottom half of the league table. Specific
points totals and numerical positions were not specified in the initial match reporting.

## Matchday Nine Picture

The fixture formed an early part of the NPFL’s Matchday Nine schedule. The remainder
of the weekend’s fixtures are slated to take place across Saturday and Sunday, where
subsequent results could further reshuffle the standings around the relegation zone.

For Shooting Stars, turning an offensive breakthrough into a three-goal haul offers
a foundation to rebuild their campaign after a precarious opening run. Ranchers
Bees will face a quick turnaround as they look to correct course and climb back
out of the league’s bottom tier in the coming rounds.
