Real Madrid has moved provisionally level on points with Barcelona at the top of
the La Liga table following a decisive 3-0 victory against Valencia at the Mestalla
stadium. According to a report by _Channels Television_, the win marks the eighth
consecutive victory for Jose Mourinho’s side across all competitions, intensifying
the pressure on the reigning champions as they prepare for their upcoming fixture
against Atletico Madrid.

## A Clinical First Half Performance

The match began with a moment of somber reflection, as players and fans paused in
the ninth minute to honor Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel, who passed away earlier
in the week. Once play resumed, the visitors asserted their dominance. Despite an
early threat from Valencia’s Aaron Mayol—which was neutralized by a save from Thibaut
Courtois—and a disallowed goal for Valencia’s Guido Rodriguez, Madrid eventually
broke the deadlock.

Federico Valverde opened the scoring with a strike from outside the penalty area
after a blocked free-kick from Kylian Mbappe fell into his path. Shortly after,
Arda Guler extended the lead to 2-0, capitalizing on a deflected cross from Jude
Bellingham. The efficiency of the Madrid attack proved difficult for the Valencia
defense to manage throughout the first half.

## Mbappe’s Consistent Scoring Run

Kylian Mbappe continued his remarkable form, netting his 13th league goal of the
season in the second half. The French forward converted a pass from Guler, successfully
navigating past Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski. This goal marked the seventh
consecutive match in which Mbappe has scored, bringing his total tally to 17 goals
in 16 appearances across all competitions.

The match concluded with further difficulties for Valencia, as Jose Gaya was shown
a red card for a late challenge on Mbappe with approximately 10 minutes remaining.
The victory keeps Madrid in a strong position as they continue to navigate the season
without winger Vinicius Junior, who was serving the final match of a four-game suspension.

## Broader La Liga Context

While the focus remains on the title race between Real Madrid and Barcelona, other
matches in the league saw varying results. Eder Sarabia’s debut as Espanyol coach
resulted in a 0-0 draw against Deportivo La Coruna. Elsewhere, Osasuna secured a
1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao, and Racing Santander staged a comeback to defeat
Malaga 2-1.

As Barcelona prepares to face third-placed Atletico Madrid on Sunday, the league
standings remain fluid. Real Madrid’s current momentum, highlighted by their recent
win in the El Clasico on October 25, suggests a highly competitive remainder of
the campaign.

### Conclusion

Real Madrid’s victory at Valencia underscores their current form and tactical cohesion
under Jose Mourinho. With Mbappe in prolific scoring form and the team maintaining
a winning streak, the pressure now shifts to Barcelona to respond in their upcoming
match to maintain their lead in the La Liga standings.
