U.S. President Donald Trump addressed reporters on Friday regarding the current
state of military relations between the United States and Iran. During the briefing,
the president asserted that no American military personnel have been killed in the
past seven months, a claim he used to frame the current situation as distinct from
a formal state of war.

## Defining the Nature of the Conflict

Contrasting the current situation with the ongoing war in Ukraine, President Trump
explicitly stated, “We’re not fighting.” Despite reports of escalating military
tensions, the administration maintains that the current series of engagements does
not constitute a full-scale war. Trump characterized the U.S. approach as the implementation
of what he described as “the greatest blockade in military history” against Tehran.

## Reports of Military Engagements

While denying that the nations are at war, the president acknowledged that U.S.
forces have conducted limited, targeted strikes against Iranian military assets.
Specifically, Trump described an operation in which a newly developed Iranian air
defense system was neutralized shortly after its deployment. According to the president,
the system was destroyed within five to fifteen minutes, though he did not provide
specific details regarding the date or the geographic location of this strike.

Furthermore, Trump claimed that Iran’s naval capabilities have been significantly
degraded. He also cited economic data, asserting that Iran is currently grappling
with an inflation rate of 300 percent, though he did not provide a source for this
figure.

## Status of Diplomatic Negotiations

Beyond military actions, the president suggested that diplomatic channels remain
active. He indicated that Washington is currently engaged in discussions with Tehran,
claiming that Iranian leadership has expressed an interest in reaching a formal
agreement.

> “We’re dealing with them now. They want to make a deal,” Trump stated.

While the president noted that “a lot of progress” has been made, he did not offer
specific details regarding the nature of these negotiations, the parties involved,
or the potential terms of a deal. As of this report, the White House has not provided
further documentation or evidence to substantiate the claims regarding the status
of the Iranian navy or the specific progress of these diplomatic talks.

## Conclusion

The statements from President Trump highlight a complex dynamic where the U.S. maintains
a policy of economic and limited military pressure while simultaneously pursuing
potential diplomatic avenues. As the administration continues to emphasize that
the U.S. is not in a state of war with Iran, the lack of specific details regarding
recent strikes and ongoing negotiations leaves many aspects of the current situation
unverified by external sources.

  TL;DR (AI Generated)

President Trump stated that no American military personnel have died in the confrontation
with Iran over the past seven months and insisted that the nations are not actively
at war.

He highlighted that U.S. forces have executed targeted strikes to neutralize Iranian
assets while enforcing a massive economic blockade.

Additionally, Trump reported that diplomatic discussions are ongoing because Iranian
leadership has expressed a desire to reach a formal agreement.
