Plateau United’s technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has expressed significant dissatisfaction
following his team’s 1-1 draw against Warri Wolves in their recent Nigeria Professional
Football League (NPFL) matchday 11 fixture. The encounter, held at the New Jos Stadium
this past Sunday, left the home side frustrated as they failed to secure all three
points despite a determined effort.

## Match Breakdown

The game saw Warri Wolves take an early advantage when Emmanuel Aribogha found the
back of the net in the 24th minute. Plateau United, known as the ‘Peace Boys,’ struggled
to break down the visitors’ defense for much of the first half. It was not until
the hour mark that Samuel Ayanrinde managed to equalize, restoring parity for the
hosts.

Despite the momentum shift following the equalizer, Plateau United was unable to
find a winning goal. According to reports from the _Daily Post Nigeria_, the home
side applied consistent pressure, but the Warri Wolves’ defensive unit remained
resolute, effectively neutralizing subsequent attacks.

## Ogunbote’s Assessment

In his post-match comments, Gbenga Ogunbote attributed the draw to a lack of composure
among his players. He noted that the team appeared to be playing with a high level
of anxiety, which hindered their decision-making in the final third of the pitch.

> I think it was an unfortunate one, there were lots of anxiety from my boys. They
> were just trying everything hurriedly to make sure we score, unfortunately we
> were getting everything wrong. It’s another disappointing home draw for us.

Ogunbote emphasized that the players’ haste to secure a victory led to technical
errors, preventing them from capitalizing on the opportunities they created during
the second half.

## League Standing and Future Outlook

Following this result, Plateau United currently sits in sixth position on the NPFL
league table, having accumulated 16 points from their opening 11 matches. The team
is now looking ahead to their next challenge, which will see them travel to Lafia
to face Nasarawa United.

The upcoming fixture will be critical for the Jos-based club as they aim to regain
momentum and address the inconsistencies that have plagued their recent home performances.
While the club has not provided further details regarding specific tactical adjustments,
Ogunbote’s public critique suggests a focus on managing match-day pressure as the
season progresses.

## Conclusion

The draw against Warri Wolves serves as a reminder of the competitive nature of
the NPFL, where even home-field advantage does not guarantee success. For Gbenga
Ogunbote and his squad, the focus now shifts to the road ahead, with the upcoming
match against Nasarawa United offering an opportunity to rectify the errors observed
in their latest outing.

  TL;DR (AI Generated)

Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote expressed frustration following
his team's disappointing 1-1 home draw against Warri Wolves in the NPFL.

He attributed the missed victory to player anxiety and a lack of composure in the
final third, which resulted in hurried decision-making.

Currently sitting sixth in the league standings, the team will look to correct these
issues in their upcoming away match against Nasarawa United.
