Early efforts tested the Warri Wolves defence, including a dangerous long throw-in from Majalisa Andrew in the third minute and a long-range attempt from Jonathan Okechukwu that required a save from goalkeeper Bamidele Adeniyi. Plateau United continued to create chances through Jibril Ibrahim and Victor Dawa, but they were unable to convert their territorial dominance into a lead. Instead, Warri Wolves struck against the run of play. In the 24th minute, an attacking delivery into the penalty box found Emmanuel Aribogha, who applied a clinical finish to put the away team ahead. Plateau United pursued an equalizer before the interval, but Dawa missed opportunities, and Adeniyi pulled off another key save against Ibrahim in the 40th minute to protect the visitors’ 1-0 advantage at half-time. ## Ayanrinde’s Impact and Defensive Resilience Plateau United maintained an attacking posture after the restart despite a scare in the 51st minute when Yahaya Ibrahim forced another save from Adeniyi. The momentum shifted following an enforced tactical change: Plateau United’s Nenrot Silas sustained an injury in the 57th minute and was replaced by Samuel Ayanrinde. Ayanrinde made an immediate impression, leveling the score in the 60th minute, just three minutes after his introduction. The forward nearly scored a second shortly after, but Adeniyi again denied the hosts to keep the contest tied. ## Late Dismissal and What Comes Next Both benches made tactical substitutions in pursuit of a late decider. Warri Wolves brought on Godstime Edewor and Ubah Cyracus, while Plateau United introduced Abegunrin Lookman and Isaiah Sunday. Adeniyi remained sharp until the end, keeping out a 74th- minute direct free-kick from Ibrahim. Neither team could find a winner before the final whistle. The match concluded with late controversy when Plateau United player Alex Aghahowa received a straight red card after the final whistle for misconduct, according to the league’s report. The specific details regarding the incident were not provided. Looking ahead to Matchday 12, Plateau United is scheduled to travel away to face Nasarawa United, while Warri Wolves will return home to host Katsina United. < p class=”vbgf-source-note”>**Source:** [Nigeria Premier Football League](https://npfl.com.ng/2026/11/01/warri-wolves-hold-plateau-united-to-1-1-draw-in-jos/) TL;DR (AI Generated) Plateau United secured a 1-1 home draw against Warri Wolves during their NPFL Matchday 11 fixture at the New Jos Stadium.
