A recent video circulating on social media has ignited a fresh round of public discourse
regarding the physical fitness of President Bola Tinubu. The footage, which reportedly
captures the President appearing to lose his balance while walking toward his convoy
following a campaign rally in Akwa Ibom State, has drawn significant attention from
political figures and the general public.

## The Viral Footage and Public Reaction

The video shows a moment of instability as the President navigates the area surrounding
his campaign event. While the clip has been widely shared across various social
media platforms, it has also served as a catalyst for renewed scrutiny regarding
the President’s health and his capacity to manage the rigorous demands of the presidency.
Many Nigerians have taken to the internet to express concerns about whether the
current administration’s leadership is sustainable given the physical challenges
associated with a national campaign and a potential second term.

## Paul Ibe’s Call for Withdrawal

Paul Ibe, the media aide to former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has formally
weighed in on the incident. Utilizing his official X handle, Ibe addressed the implications
of the footage, suggesting that the event is symptomatic of broader concerns that
the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not adequately addressed.

Ibe’s statement specifically targeted the President’s inner circle, urging family
members to intervene. He wrote,

> “Tinubu’s latest campaign appearance raises a question the APC can no longer brush
> aside. Is he up to the demands of another presidential campaign and a second term?
> Aunty Remi and Seyi, you are among those closest to him. Give him the honest counsel
> his party seems unwilling to offer. Urge him to step out of the race with dignity.”

## Contextualizing the Debate

The call for withdrawal highlights the ongoing tension between political opposition
and the ruling party as the 2027 election cycle approaches. Ibe’s comments represent
a direct challenge to the President’s candidacy, framing the physical incident as
a matter of national interest rather than merely a personal health concern. As of
this writing, there has been no official response from the President’s office or
the APC regarding the specific claims made by Ibe or the viral video itself.

## Conclusion

The circulation of this video has reignited long-standing questions about the health
and stamina of political leaders in Nigeria. While the incident in Akwa Ibom has
provided a focal point for critics like Paul Ibe to question the viability of President
Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, the broader impact on the electorate remains to be seen.
The debate underscores the high stakes of the upcoming election and the intense
scrutiny that accompanies high-profile political figures in the digital age.
