Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced the immediate reconstruction
of the Saje-Elega-Adedotun Road in the Abeokuta South Local Government Area. According
to a report by _Daily Post Nigeria_, the governor confirmed that construction work
on the project is scheduled to begin as early as next week.

## Infrastructure Development in the State Capital

The directive for the road project was issued during a stakeholders’ meeting with
members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Centenary Hall in Ake, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun stated that this initiative is part of his administration’s broader
commitment to upgrading infrastructure and providing the state capital with a significant
facelift. Beyond road construction, the governor emphasized his administration’s
focus on grassroots development, citing the provision of boreholes, electricity
transformers, and solar-powered streetlights as key priorities for improving living
conditions across the state.

To ensure these projects effectively address local needs, the governor called for
increased collaboration between the state government and local stakeholders. He
specifically urged local government chairmen, Community Development Associations(
CDAs), traditional rulers, and religious leaders to work together to identify and
prioritize areas requiring urgent intervention.

## Strengthening Internal Party Cohesion

In addition to infrastructure announcements, the governor addressed internal party
dynamics within the APC. During the meeting in Abeokuta South, he announced the
formation of a reconciliation committee tasked with resolving lingering disagreements
and fostering unity among party members. The committee is set to be chaired by the
state APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and will include notable figures such as
the former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni, and
Hon. Nurudeen Olaleye.

Governor Abiodun encouraged party members to adopt an inclusive approach, specifically
asking them to welcome and accommodate individuals who have recently defected from
opposition parties. He noted that such inclusivity is vital for strengthening the
party’s political base.

## Looking Toward 2027

During a separate meeting held at the Comprehensive Academy in Abeokuta North, the
governor expressed appreciation for the consistent support his administration has
received since 2019. He attributed the current strength of the APC in Ogun State
to the cooperation and collective commitment of its members.

Looking ahead, the governor urged party faithful to intensify their grassroots mobilization
efforts. He emphasized that these activities are essential to securing victory for
all APC candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections. While the governor outlined
these political and infrastructure goals, specific budget allocations or technical
timelines for the road construction beyond the start date were not provided in the
source report.

## Conclusion

The recent directives from Governor Abiodun signal a dual focus on physical infrastructure
and political consolidation within Ogun State. By initiating the Saje-Elega-Adedotun
Road project and establishing a reconciliation committee, the administration aims
to address both immediate community needs and long-term party unity as it prepares
for future electoral cycles.
