Jimmy Donaldson’s media empire, Beast Industries, has promoted Michelle St. Jacques to the newly created role of Chief Marketing Officer as the company seeks to evolve beyond YouTube into a diversified entertainment powerhouse.

A Strategic Shift for Beast Industries

Jimmy Donaldson, globally recognized as the world’s most-followed YouTuber under the moniker MrBeast, has taken a significant step in the professionalization of his business empire. The company has officially appointed its first-ever Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), promoting Michelle St. Jacques to the position. St. Jacques, who previously served as the president of consumer goods at Beast Industries, will now oversee the broader marketing strategy for the entire holding company while maintaining her existing responsibilities over the consumer goods division.

This appointment marks a pivotal moment for Beast Industries, which has been actively searching for a marketing leader since earlier this year. The decision to fill the role internally was confirmed by CEO Jeff Housenbold, who noted in an internal memo that while the company considered external candidates, St. Jacques was ultimately identified as the ideal fit for the organization’s evolving needs.

Building a ‘Disney-Style’ Giant

The move to install a dedicated CMO reflects the company’s ambitious trajectory. With MrBeast’s primary YouTube channel boasting over 524 million subscribers, the brand is looking to transition from a digital-first content creator into a diversified, “Disney-style” entertainment conglomerate. Beast Industries is currently expanding its footprint across multiple sectors, including retail, financial services, and theatrical entertainment.

St. Jacques brings a wealth of experience to this expanded role. Prior to joining Beast Industries in February, she held high-level positions at major global brands, including Dove, Heinz, Miller Lite, and Coors Light. CEO Jeff Housenbold praised her track record, stating that she has demonstrated an ability to set clear strategies and deliver execution for both products and partners. Her background as both a CMO and Chief Commercial Officer is expected to be instrumental as the company seeks to scale its operations.

Diversification and Brand Positioning

Under her new mandate, St. Jacques will be responsible for defining the overarching MrBeast brand identity, ensuring that all company ventures align with a unified strategic vision. This includes leading marketing efforts for the MrBeast brand, its various partner collaborations, and the viral marketing team. Housenbold emphasized that the company sees a major opportunity to leverage e-commerce and performance marketing to improve customer acquisition and retention.

The scope of St. Jacques’ work is vast. She will be tasked with managing marketing across a diverse portfolio that ranges from theatrical releases—such as the upcoming December debut of Angry Birds Movie 3, featuring Donaldson’s voice—to the distribution of snacks and toys. Furthermore, her remit covers the promotion of new ventures, including the company’s recent acquisition of the Step app and its planned entry into the mobile phone service market.

Reducing Reliance on the Founder

A central challenge for the company is its goal to lessen its dependency on its famous founder. As Beast Industries continues to bulk up its executive suite, the company is also laying the groundwork for broader services. This includes potential expansion into ad and marketing services for other brands, support services for independent content creators, and the development of a membership program.

St. Jacques joined the company during a period when Feastables, the snack and candy brand overseen by Beast Industries, was experiencing a slowdown in growth. Her leadership will now be tested as she navigates the complexities of a company that is simultaneously managing viral internet fame and traditional retail and service-based business models. Based in Chicago, St. Jacques remains a key figure in the company’s ongoing efforts to build high-performing teams capable of sustaining the MrBeast brand for the long term.
