Operations in Katsina and Kaduna
In Katsina State, troops from Sector One responded to a distress call from farmers near the Machika Dam in Sabuwa Local Government Area on Saturday, October 24. Recovered items from this location included three locally fabricated firearms, two motorcycles, various cutlasses, and assorted charms.
Rescue Efforts in Zamfara
Surveillance operations conducted by Sector Two troops in Zamfara State resulted in the rescue of two additional kidnap victims on Sunday, October 25. The rescue occurred in the Bagega area of Anka Local Government Area. According to the report, troops identified suspected terrorists during a patrol, prompting the suspects to flee the scene and abandon their captives. The rescued individuals, aged 40 and 25, were originally from Kebbi State. They were initially transported to a local clinic for medical assessment before being moved to a military facility for further processing and eventual reunification with their families.
Ongoing Security Measures
The military has indicated that patrols and search operations remain active in the affected regions to locate fleeing suspects and prevent further security threats. The Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA has publicly commended the troops for their performance during these engagements. Furthermore, the military has issued a call to the public, encouraging citizens to report suspicious activities to assist in ongoing security efforts.
While the military has provided details regarding the recovery of weapons and the outcomes of these specific engagements, information regarding the identities or affiliations of the neutralized suspects was not disclosed in the official statement.
