Military forces tasked with maintaining regional security in Plateau State have
reported the arrest of two individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping. The
operation, conducted by troops attached to Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace (
OPEP), took place in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area.

## Details of the Operation

According to information shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama via social media,
the arrests occurred on November 4, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m. The individuals
taken into custody have been identified as Cuthbert Tapgun and Sani Alhassan.

The apprehension was part of a targeted search-and-rescue mission carried out by
military personnel within their designated area of responsibility. While the military
has confirmed the detention of the two men, specific details regarding the victims
of the alleged kidnapping or the circumstances leading to the discovery of the suspects
have not been publicly disclosed.

## Ongoing Security Efforts

The arrest is framed as a component of the broader mandate of Operation Enduring
Peace, which aims to address rising security concerns in the region. The primary
objectives of these ongoing military activities include:

 * Combating kidnapping syndicates operating within Plateau State.
 * Dismantling criminal networks that threaten the safety of local residents.
 * Enhancing the overall security architecture in the Jos North area.

Security sources cited in the report indicate that the suspects are currently being
held in military custody. They are undergoing interrogation as part of an investigation
intended to verify their alleged roles in kidnapping incidents and to uncover potential
accomplices who may be part of a wider criminal network.

### Next Steps in the Investigation

As of the time of reporting, authorities have not released further information regarding
whether the suspects have been transferred to civilian police custody or if additional
arrests have been made in connection with the case. The military continues to conduct
operations in the area to maintain order and prevent further criminal activity.

The situation remains fluid, and the public is encouraged to monitor official updates
from security agencies regarding the progress of the investigation and the broader
security situation in Plateau State.
