Bronchial asthma is a chronic respiratory condition characterized by inflammation
and narrowing of the airways. During severe exacerbations or asthma attacks, the
muscles surrounding the bronchial tubes constrict, the airway lining swells, and
excess mucus can severely restrict airflow. When airflow becomes critically obstructed,
it can lead to acute respiratory failure if emergency intervention is delayed or
ineffective.
