Kun Khalifat FC, the Owerri-based club currently navigating a challenging debut
season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), is shifting its focus toward
long-term development rather than immediate pressure. According to defender Ebuka
Okoro, the team is committed to a methodical approach as they prepare to host Inter
Lagos this Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.

## A Focus on Routine

Speaking to the club’s media representatives, Okoro highlighted that the squad is
prioritizing a game-by-game strategy to navigate the complexities of the top-flight
league. Rather than fixating on the broader standings, the team is focusing on maintaining
their established training and match-day routines.

> For us as a team we’re taking every game the way it comes, everything has its
> own step, that’s what we’ll do as a team, follow our routine in every match.

This philosophy comes at a critical juncture for the club, which is currently working
to find its rhythm in a highly competitive environment.

## Current Standing and Performance

The path for Kun Khalifat FC has been demanding thus far. Based on data provided
by the Daily Post, the club has navigated nine matches in the current campaign,
resulting in:

 * Two victories
 * Three draws
 * Four losses

These results have placed the team in 17th position on the NPFL table, with a total
of nine points accumulated. The upcoming match against Inter Lagos represents a
significant opportunity for the squad to improve their standing and demonstrate
the effectiveness of their process-oriented mindset.

## Looking Ahead

The transition to the NPFL is historically difficult for clubs, requiring adjustments
in tactical discipline and physical conditioning. While the current league position
reflects the difficulties the team has faced, the leadership within the squad remains
focused on incremental progress. Whether this commitment to routine will translate
into improved results on the pitch remains to be seen as the season progresses.

As the team prepares for the Matchday 10 encounter, the focus remains squarely on
the Dan Anyiam Stadium, where the club will look to leverage home advantage to secure
vital points.
