According to a report from _Daily Post Nigeria_, the England international became the youngest player in the history of the competition to reach 60 appearances. ## A Record Decades in the Making Bellingham achieved this milestone during Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over AEK Athens in the league phase of the tournament. At the time of the match, Bellingham was 23 years and 128 days old. This accomplishment allowed him to surpass the previous record held by legendary Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who had held the mark for more than two decades. Casillas had set the previous record at 23 years and 167 days old. By reaching the 60-game threshold 39 days younger than the former goalkeeper, Bellingham has effectively rewritten a significant chapter of Champions League history. ## Building on a Legacy of Consistency This achievement marks the second time Bellingham has overtaken a record previously held by Casillas. Last November, the midfielder became the youngest player to reach 50 Champions League appearances, signaling his rapid ascent and consistent involvement at the highest level of European club football since his debut. Bellingham’s trajectory highlights his importance to Real Madrid’s squad since his arrival. While the _Daily Post Nigeria_ report focuses on his statistical milestones, it underscores the rarity of a player accumulating such a high volume of appearances in Europe’s premier competition at such a young age. ## Contextualizing the Milestone The Champions League remains the most prestigious club competition in world football, and reaching 60 appearances is often considered a sign of a player’s sustained elite performance. For Bellingham, who has navigated high-pressure environments throughout his career, this record serves as a testament to his durability and the trust placed in him by his managers. While the report confirms the specific age and match details surrounding the record, it does not provide further statistics regarding his performance metrics or specific goal contributions during these 60 appearances. The focus remains strictly on the milestone of total appearances in the tournament. ## Conclusion Jude Bellingham’s latest achievement cements his status as one of the most experienced young players in the modern game. By eclipsing a record held by an icon like Iker Casillas, Bellingham continues to build a legacy that bridges the gap between Real Madrid’s past successes and its current ambitions on the European stage. < p class=”vbna-source-note”>**Source:** [Daily Post Nigeria](https://dailypost.ng/2026/11/04/ucl-bellingham-rewrites-champions-league-record-held-since-casillas-era/) TL;DR (AI Generated) Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has become the youngest player in history to reach 60 appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
