Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has offered candid guidance to forward Yan Diomande
following the club’s dominant 4-1 victory over Sevilla in LaLiga, according to a
report by Daily Post Nigeria. Even as the attacker found the back of the net during
Sunday’s decisive performance, the manager stressed that the young player still
faces a significant learning curve at the highest level of Spanish football.

## A Promising Outing With Room for Growth

Diomande’s goal against Sevilla represents his second strike for the Spanish giants
since completing a transfer from German side RB Leipzig during the summer transfer
window. The victory further stabilized Real Madrid’s domestic campaign, yet Mourinho
used the post-match debrief to manage expectations around the recent signing.

According to the Daily Post Nigeria report, Mourinho characterized Diomande as still
being exceptionally raw in his development. While acknowledging the player’s potential,
the manager underscored the necessity for continual self-improvement and focused
training if he is to establish himself as a consistent contributor for the club.

## Mourinho’s Focus on Composure and Finishing

Mourinho’s technical assessment centered primarily on Diomande’s execution in the
attacking third. While praising the player’s natural instinct for creating offensive
opportunities, the manager pointed out that sharper decision-making is essential.

> “He still has a lot to learn and several areas of his game to improve, especially
> his finishing,” Mourinho said, as reported by Daily Post Nigeria. “He gets into
> dangerous positions very often, but he needs to learn to stay calmer and make
> better decisions with his final touch… He reminds me of a young Vinícius Jr.”

The comparison to Vinícius Júnior underscores a familiar trajectory at Real Madrid.
In his early seasons with the club, the Brazilian forward frequently drew scrutiny
for erratic finishing and hasty decision-making in front of goal before developing
into one of world football’s most clinical attacking threats. Mourinho’s reference
suggests a belief that Diomande possesses the raw attributes required to undertake
a similar developmental path, provided he embraces technical refinement.

## Looking Ahead

While the report did not provide exhaustive match statistics, playing minutes, or
broader tactical breakdowns from the Sevilla fixture, the manager’s public feedback
sends a clear message regarding the standards expected at the Santiago Bernabéu.
With two goals already to his name since his summer switch from Leipzig, Diomande
has displayed encouraging flashes of ability. The challenge outlined by his manager
will be translating those dangerous positions into composed, regular end-product
as the season unfolds.

  TL;DR (AI Generated)

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho urged young forward Yan Diomande to refine his
game despite scoring in a 4-1 victory over Sevilla.

Mourinho noted that while the recent signing possesses great potential, he remains
raw and needs to improve his finishing and decision-making in the attacking third.

Comparing him to a young Vinícius Jr., the manager emphasized that continuous training
and composure are essential for the player to succeed at the club.
