## A High-Stakes Derby Clash

Inter Milan enters this Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina with a clear directive
from within the squad: avoid the sluggish opening phases that have characterized
much of their current Serie A campaign. According to defender Manuel Akanji, speaking
in an interview with Sky Sport Italia, the team’s tendency to concede the opening
goal is a dangerous trend that must be addressed before facing AC Milan.

## The Challenge of Early Deficits

While Inter currently sits at the top of the league table alongside Lazio, maintaining
an unbeaten record, their path to the summit has been unconventional. Christian
Chivu’s side has frequently found themselves chasing the game, having successfully
recovered 13 points from losing positions this season. Despite this resilience,
Akanji suggests that relying on comebacks is not a sustainable strategy against
top-tier opposition.

“It’s not easy to give an explanation. It’s not that we start badly, but sometimes
we make mistakes and concede goals,” Akanji noted. He emphasized that the margin
for error narrows significantly when facing a rival like Milan, stating, “We can’t
afford to do that, especially against the big teams.”

## Contrasting Momentum

The two clubs approach this weekend’s fixture with vastly different recent experiences.
AC Milan enters the match following a 4-2 home defeat to Bologna, which marked their
first loss of the season. Conversely, Inter remains undefeated, though they are
under pressure to rectify a poor historical record in the derby. Inter has failed
to secure a victory in their last seven meetings with Milan, a streak that includes
five losses and two draws.

## Looking Ahead

The upcoming match serves as a critical test for Inter’s defensive focus. While
their ability to salvage points after falling behind has demonstrated significant
mental fortitude, the tactical risk of conceding early against a motivated Milan
side remains a primary concern for the squad. Whether Inter can break their seven-
game winless streak against their rivals will likely depend on their ability to
maintain defensive discipline from the opening whistle.

_Note: Information regarding the specific tactical adjustments planned by Christian
Chivu for this match was not available at the time of reporting._

  TL;DR (AI Generated)

Inter Milan enters the upcoming Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan aiming to
avoid the slow starts that have plagued their otherwise successful Serie A campaign.

Although Christian Chivu's undefeated side has shown great resilience by recovering
13 points from losing positions, defender Manuel Akanji warns that relying on comebacks
is unsustainable against top-tier rivals.

To break their seven-game winless streak in the derby, Inter must maintain defensive
discipline right from the opening whistle.
