Hilda Dokubo, a prominent Nollywood actress and the National Women Leader of the
Labour Party, has publicly addressed the backlash following her recent visit to
the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. The meeting, which
drew significant attention on social media, prompted speculation regarding her political
allegiances and potential involvement in new coalitions.

## Addressing the Controversy

According to a report by _Naija News_, Dokubo felt compelled to clarify her position
after facing criticism from various quarters. The actress emphasized that her meeting
with the Minister should not be interpreted as a sign of shifting political loyalties
or an endorsement of any specific political coalition.

Dokubo stated clearly that she does not belong to any coalition, seeking to quell
rumors that suggested her visit signaled a departure from her current political
platform. As the National Women Leader of the Labour Party, her actions are frequently
scrutinized by the public and political observers, particularly given the current
climate of political realignment in Nigeria.

## The Context of Political Visits

In the Nigerian political landscape, visits between high-profile figures often spark
intense debate. While such interactions are common in governance and public service,
they are frequently viewed through a partisan lens. Dokubo’s clarification highlights
the challenges faced by public figures who hold dual roles in the entertainment
industry and formal political leadership.

The report from _Naija News_ notes that the actress addressed the criticism directly
to prevent further misinformation. However, the source did not provide specific
details regarding the agenda of the meeting with Minister Wike or the specific nature
of the discussions held during the visit.

## Maintaining Political Independence

Dokubo’s statement serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency for political
leaders. By distancing herself from coalition rumors, she aims to maintain the integrity
of her role within the Labour Party. While the actress has been vocal on various
national issues, she maintains that her professional engagements do not necessarily
equate to political alliances.

As of now, there has been no further comment from the Minister’s office regarding
the meeting, and the full scope of the interaction remains undisclosed. Dokubo’s
clarification stands as the primary response to the public discourse surrounding
the event.

## Conclusion

The incident underscores the sensitivity of political optics in Nigeria. Hilda Dokubo’s
decision to speak out reflects a commitment to clarifying her political identity
amidst public speculation. For now, the actress remains focused on her responsibilities
as the National Women Leader of the Labour Party, having firmly denied any involvement
in external political coalitions.
