Former Snowflake Revenue Chief Mike Gannon Joins AI Infrastructure Startup Spectro Cloud
After a high-profile exit from Snowflake, Mike Gannon is taking on a new role as chief revenue officer at Spectro Cloud, an AI infrastructure firm currently scaling its global operations.
A New Chapter in AI Infrastructure
Mike Gannon, the former chief revenue officer at cloud giant Snowflake, has officially joined Spectro Cloud, a startup specializing in AI infrastructure. Gannon’s appointment comes as the $1 billion company seeks to expand its footprint among larger, global enterprise customers. His new role will focus on leading the firm’s sales strategy as it navigates the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence landscape.
Gannon’s transition follows his departure from Snowflake in April. At the time, his exit was described in a separation agreement as “mutually negotiated,” and Gannon has declined to provide further details regarding the circumstances of his departure. During his single year at Snowflake, Gannon drew significant public attention after participating in an interview with a TikTok influencer. The incident led Snowflake to issue an SEC disclosure, advising investors to disregard revenue projections Gannon had discussed during the video.
Scaling for the AI Era
Spectro Cloud, which secured over $100 million in a Series D funding round led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives in July, is positioning itself as a critical player in the AI ecosystem. The company provides software designed to help businesses manage the deployment, cost, and monitoring of AI agents. According to CEO and cofounder Tenry Fu, the company is currently on track to reach $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) this year.
The firm has experienced significant momentum, reporting two- to threefold annual growth over the past three years. Fu noted that AI-related operations now represent more than half of the company’s total business. Spectro Cloud’s platform acts as a central hub for AI workloads, allowing companies to manage processes across diverse environments, including private servers, cloud platforms, and remote locations. The company also offers tools to optimize AI efficiency, with Fu claiming that some customers have reduced token costs by as much as 90% within a week of implementation.
Strategic Expansion and Leadership Changes
Gannon’s arrival is part of what CEO Tenry Fu describes as a broader “leadership upgrade” at the startup. Alongside Gannon, the company has appointed Peter Finter as its new chief marketing officer. Finter brings substantial experience from his previous roles at major enterprise technology firms, including his tenure at Gigamon, where he helped guide the company through its initial public offering.
Spectro Cloud is currently in a phase of international expansion, with new offices established in London and Washington, DC, as well as strategic partnerships being developed in the Middle East. The company’s existing client base includes high-profile organizations such as Airbus, T-Mobile, and the US Air Force. Additionally, the startup provides services to “neoclouds,” which are companies that rent out AI compute power to other businesses.
Reflecting on his new position, Gannon noted that the opportunity at Spectro Cloud bears similarities to his earlier career experiences at VMware and EMC. He expressed optimism about the current shift toward “inference,” or the practical application of AI models, viewing it as a pivotal moment for the industry that mirrors the growth of emerging technologies he helped build in the past.
