Carlos Alcaraz has captured his first Paris Masters title, defeating American opponent
Ben Shelton in straight sets, according to a report by Sky Sports. The victory marked
a personal breakthrough for the Spaniard at the indoor tournament while settling
a recent score against one of the tour’s rising talents.

## A Tightly Contested Straight-Sets Win

Alcaraz took the title with a 7-6(7-5), 7-5 scoreline. The closely fought sets reflected
minimal separation between the two competitors, with the opening set decided by
a narrow tiebreak before Alcaraz edged ahead in the closing stages of the second
set.

Sky Sports reported that the win earned Alcaraz his maiden crown at the Paris Masters.
The ATP Masters 1000 event, traditionally held indoors in the French capital, represents
one of the premier late-season milestones on the men’s professional calendar. For
Alcaraz, lifting the trophy fills another gap in his expanding resume of elite tournament
triumphs.

## Reversing a Previous Grand Slam Defeat

The encounter carried added significance following Shelton’s earlier win over Alcaraz
at the US Open. According to Sky Sports, the Paris final provided Alcaraz an opportunity
to avenge that defeat, turning the tables in their budding rivalry on a completely
different playing surface.

Shelton’s run to the championship match underlined his ability to challenge the
world’s top players on indoor hard courts. However, it was Alcaraz who held firm
in the decisive moments of both sets to prevent the American from converting his
Grand Slam momentum into a Masters title.

## What the Result Means

Winning a maiden title in Paris reinforces Alcaraz’s capability on fast indoor conditions,
a setting where adaptability and sharp serving are paramount. While complete statistical
breakdowns and post-match player statements were not immediately detailed in the
initial Sky Sports report, the result establishes Alcaraz’s continued dominance
in high-stakes finals.

For Shelton, reaching the final demonstrates steady progress among the ATP’s elite
tier, setting up future head-to-head encounters between the two young competitors
as marquee fixtures across the tour.
