## A Narrow Escape in Trabzon

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been involved in a significant road
traffic accident in Turkey. The 30-year-old, who is currently plying his trade on
loan at Trabzonspor, was caught in a multi-car collision near the city of Trabzon.
The incident occurred on Yomra Road, leaving the goalkeeper’s luxury vehicle, a
Hongqi E-HS9 valued at approximately £100,000, with visible damage.

## Details of the Collision

According to reports, the accident was triggered when another vehicle struck the
rear of Onana’s car at a high rate of speed. The force of the impact propelled his
vehicle into another car traveling in front of him, resulting in a pile-up that
left debris scattered across the thoroughfare. Emergency services were dispatched
to the scene immediately following the crash to assist those involved.

While initial reports indicated that Onana was traveling with family members, there
has been no official confirmation regarding whether his wife or son were inside
the vehicle at the time of the collision. Following the crash, the Cameroonian international
was transported to a local hospital to undergo precautionary medical examinations.

## Swift Recovery and Club Confirmation

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan addressed the situation, providing reassurance
to fans and the football community. In a statement, Dogan confirmed the incident,
noting, “Andre Onana was involved in a road traffic accident earlier this evening.
There are no problems with him, and we wish him a speedy recovery.”

Following his medical evaluation, the goalkeeper was cleared and discharged from
the hospital. The incident took place only hours after Onana had participated in
a successful outing for his club. He had helped Trabzonspor secure a 2-0 victory
over Hearts of Midlothian in a UEFA Europa Conference League fixture earlier that
day.

As of now, the focus remains on the player’s recovery following the traumatic event.
The damage to the right side of his vehicle serves as a stark reminder of the severity
of the collision, though club officials have expressed relief that the goalkeeper
avoided serious injury.
