The football community is mourning the loss of Tenerife forward Jesus de Miguel,
who passed away at the age of 30. The striker died in the hospital on Tuesday, just
one day after sustaining injuries during a collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper
Jesus Owono in a Spanish second-division fixture.

## A Personal Statement of Grief

Following the news of the tragedy, Jesus Owono, the 25-year-old goalkeeper involved
in the on-field incident, broke his silence. In a statement released through his
club, FC Andorra, on Wednesday, Owono described the current period as the most difficult
of his life.

“I feel immense pain at the loss of Jesus,” Owono stated. “I’m thinking of him,
his family, and all the people who loved him.”

## Addressing the Aftermath

The incident has prompted a somber response from the sporting world. Owono acknowledged
that the situation will likely lead to further scrutiny and procedural developments.
In his statement, he expressed a commitment to transparency and accountability regarding
the incident, noting, “I know there will be many issues to address, and I will face
whatever comes with the utmost respect.”

As of this writing, specific details regarding the nature of the medical complications
that led to de Miguel’s death following the collision have not been publicly disclosed
by medical authorities or league officials. FC Andorra’s statement served as the
primary channel for Owono’s comments, focusing on his personal condolences rather
than the technical aspects of the match incident.

## Looking Ahead

The loss of a professional athlete in such circumstances is a rare and profound
occurrence in competitive football. While the investigation into the match events
remains a matter for the relevant sporting and legal authorities, the immediate
focus from those involved has been on offering respects to the family and friends
of the late striker.

Owono concluded his statement with a final tribute to his colleague, simply saying,“
Rest in peace, Jesus.”
