Abia Warriors suffered their first home defeat of the season after falling 1-0 to
Niger Tornadoes in a Matchday 10 Nigeria Premier Football League encounter staged
at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. Following the match, head coach Imama
Amapakabo openly conceded that his side failed to meet the required standard and
deserved the loss.

## Tornadoes Secure Crucial Road Victory

According to match coverage published by the league, the decisive moment arrived
in the second half. Niger Tornadoes forward Wasiu Jimoh broke the deadlock in the
56th minute with a powerful strike that ultimately separated the two teams.

The result marked Niger Tornadoes’ first away victory of the campaign, rewarding
the visitors for an organized display away from their home base. Abia Warriors were
unable to mount a sustained response to alter the scoreline before the final whistle.

## Amapakabo Points to Lessons Learned

Speaking in post-match remarks documented by the league, Amapakabo expressed strong
disappointment regarding how his players approached the game, acknowledging that
Abia Warriors were outplayed throughout the contest.

> “I’m disappointed with the way we played which also explained why we deserved
> to lose the game,” Amapakabo stated. “I think Tornadoes showed character and resilience
> to come here and produce such a great performance and it is a big lesson for us.
> It is our first home defeat at home this season, but the way we played wasn’t
> good enough.”

The manager emphasised that the visitors displayed greater resilience and tactical
discipline, making the outcome a clear teaching moment for his squad as the league
schedule intensifies.

## Looking Ahead to Matchday 11

Abia Warriors now face the task of regrouping quickly on the road. According to
the league schedule, the team is set to travel to Ibadan to take on Shooting Stars
at the Lekan Salami Stadium for their Matchday 11 fixture.

With their unblemished home record now broken, Amapakabo and his coaching staff
will be under pressure to address the structural issues exposed by Tornadoes and
secure a stabilizing result away from home.
